At first I thought that the refrigerator would be a hard topic. It wasn't my first choice but it was my second. It was really hard finding information on the refrigerator. The main question I wanted to answer was "What did people use before there were refrigerators." I didn't think there would be anything about this particular question. But it turns out that there were tons of stuff on this.
What really made me want to do this topic is the fact that people take refrigerators for granted. I wanted to prove that refrigerators have made a huge impact on our country. How they have helped us in so many ways.
Before I started researching my topic, I knew very little. All I knew was that it was very hard for the people who never had any refrigerators. I also knew that they kept your food cold and that it was a really big deal when it first came out.

Finding information on refrigerators were hard in some ways, yet easy in others. The hard part was trying to find a site that was good. Not any wikipedia, about, ehow, or ask.com. I wanted a good site. Then finally I found ideafinder.com. This site helped me out a lot. It gave me a timeline and information on Carl von Linde. The easy part in the search was finding pictures of the people and the refrigerators.
In the middle, I had to get some help from a lot of people. For example, my mom, sister, friends, and one of my old teachers. They were really helpful during my search.
While I was searching for information, a lot of questions started popping in my head. Like, who created the refrigerator and at what time, why are they so important to our society, and every time I typed in history of refrigerators, the name William Cullen kept popping up, and I wanted to know who he was too.

I found out a lot about refrigerators after my research. For example, I found out what people used before there were refrigerators and I also found out who William Cullen was. Comparing what I knew before my research and after my research was a huge difference. I was surprised at how much I learned on the computer.
Next time I'm looking for anything about innovations, I'm going to go to ideafinder.com/history.

I think my researching helped me develop skills and abilities. It helped me know what sites are good to look at and what sites are not. It's taught me a lot of things about refrigerators. I've also developed my typing skills.
The next time I write an I-Search paper, I'll be much more prepared. I'll have all my before questions wriiten down, and I'll write how my questions have changed throughout the research.
